The programme includes a structured induction and ongoing training designed to develop research, analytical, and professional skills, preparing students for careers in academia as well as in industry and policy-related fields. Opportunities are also available for postgraduate researchers to gain teaching experience and develop pedagogical skills.

The School offers a supportive research environment with access to dedicated facilities, including shared office space and individual workstations. Students receive a personal research budget to support their studies, along with opportunities to apply for additional funding for conference participation. Further support is provided through the Doctoral Academy and Careers Service, which offer training, networking opportunities, and professional development activities, helping students build connections across disciplines and advance their research careers.
