Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In your International Foundation Year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Business, Media and Social Sciences will familiarize you with a wide area of study for your intended degree. You will develop your critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing you with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.

You’ll join one of the largest dedicated International Relations departments in the world, and an academic community that enjoys a world reputation for being a leading centre for Development Studies in the world.

You’ll learn from experts driving debates and influencing policy – on topics such as peace-building, migration, human rights, humanitarian emergencies, global health, food security, poverty, financial instability and climate change.

Outside the classroom, you gain insights into global issues through field trips and international placements. You’ll even have the opportunity to shape our research agenda by participating in our International Development and International Relations societies.
