Program Description

If students have finished high school but don’t meet the entry requirements for university, a Foundation Certificate can help them gain entry to an undergraduate degree.

BA(Hons) English Literature with Writing will hone students' writing skills, both creative and professional, as they study a varied selection of literature, from the Renaissance to the 21st century. They'll take dedicated writing modules, where they'll build their writing expertise in areas such as advertising, marketing and PR, health and society, speechwriting, journalism, and writing for social and online media.

The literary part of the course will hone students' critical and theoretical abilities, as they analyze and critique different texts. Hear from guest speakers from industry, who'll share their experiences and help students consider different career paths. Build a portfolio of work in different genres, registers, modes and formats, which they can use as evidence of their skills to future employers.
