Program Description

This programme provides students who have an interest in accounting or finance with a solid academic background which will prepare them for the workplace or postgraduate training. Students will acquire key technical accounting and finance skills and will also develop their knowledge of a broad range of topics which will enable them not only to understand financial information but also how to link it to broader decision-making. The Accounting and Finance programme at Swansea University can provide up to 9 exemptions from the ACCA professional accreditation, the maximum exemptions available from a UK academic degree.

Swansea courses are designed to ensure students are taught the most relevant, cutting-edge topics- which will make students stand out from other candidates in the job market. Students will gain both the technical and practical skills needed to thrive in the world of accounting and finance; and will have the opportunity to complete a zero-credit module- designed to guide them through an entire process of setting up a computerized accounting system- using SAGE Line 50. This invaluable practical know-how and a vast knowledge of both accounting and finance will give students a serious edge when they graduate from Swansea University.

Accounting and Finance at Swansea is a flexible degree with the chance to study abroad for a year, or work in industry for a year.
