The languages, history, politics, and culture of the Scandinavian countries have had a significant impact beyond the Nordic region for a long time. The study of Scandinavian Studies and History aids in understanding the contemporary world and provides insights into the past.

In the joint honors program, individuals have the chance to enhance their oral and written language skills in Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish, while also delving into various historical periods and themes within Scandinavian culture.

Many fundamental concepts that underpin Western society were initially expressed in ancient Greek or Latin. Alongside Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish, these languages have been utilized in numerous influential literary and cultural works. The study of Scandinavian Studies and Classics contributes to comprehending the contemporary world and illuminating the past.

Within this program, participants can choose to pursue a pathway in Latin, Greek, or a non-language focus within Classics. They will explore the scholarship and literature of the classical world, which played a pivotal role in the development of Western society.
