Integrated Foundation - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Specialist Sports Journalism

专业介绍

The updated Sport Journalism and Communications programme equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the evolving world of journalism and communications. The curriculum is designed to keep pace with industry developments and provides practical experience, allowing students to work in the sport they are most passionate about while studying. The University leverages extensive industry contacts to support students in gaining access to sports clubs, media organisations, and international, national, and domestic sporting events.

Teaching is delivered by tutors with substantial professional experience, including work with organisations such as the BBC, ITV, the Premier League, The Guardian, and The Times, ensuring that learning is informed by current practice and industry standards.

Including a foundation year as part of the four-year programme provides students with a strong head start in their academic and professional development. This year allows them to strengthen their skills, knowledge, and confidence with extensive support from expert staff before progressing to stage one of the honours degree. The foundation year is also valuable for those considering a career change or wishing to explore a new subject area. Degrees with a foundation year are structured as continuous programmes, meaning that students do not need to reapply once they have successfully completed the first year.
