Integrated Foundation - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

专业介绍

The BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with Foundation Year at Derby prepares graduates for a rapidly growing industry with attractive career prospects and significant progression opportunities. The programme provides flexibility, allowing students to transfer to other courses within the Computing portfolio after the first year. It is delivered by academic staff recognised as leading scientists in their field and benefits from strong connections with employers through work placements and industry projects. Teaching takes place in a modern, flexible, and supportive environment with specialist facilities, and assessment is conducted entirely through coursework, without written exams.

The degree addresses one of society’s biggest challenges: managing and interpreting large volumes of data. Students develop mathematical foundations in data analysis, practical skills in extracting insights, and the ability to construct AI systems and models.

The inclusion of a foundation year gives students a head start in their academic and professional development. This year strengthens skills, knowledge, and confidence with extensive support from expert staff before progressing to stage one of the honours degree. The foundation year is particularly beneficial for those considering a career change or seeking to gain understanding in areas new to them. The programme is continuous, eliminating the need to reapply after the foundation year.
