The Master of Arts in Chinese and French program, students will have the opportunity to study two major world languages within the context of the histories, literatures, and societies of the various countries in which they are spoken.

Chinese and French, with their combined native speaker population of over two billion, serve as gateways to a diverse range of cultures across Europe, Africa, North America, and East Asia.

Edinburgh University stands out as the sole institution in Scotland that offers both single and joint honors undergraduate programs in Chinese. While the university specializes in teaching students who have little to no prior knowledge of the language, it also welcomes those who already possess some experience in studying Chinese.
