专业介绍
The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Life Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.
The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.
There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.
Mental health nurses work in people's homes, specialist clinics, GP practices and prisons, as well as hospital wards and care homes. As a mental health nurse the students might support children, adolescents, working age or older adults.
The students will need to be open-minded and motivated to help patients understand themselves and their condition. Whether it's assisting someone to overcome major surgery or helping someone with agoraphobia leave their house, they will have the satisfaction of knowing that you've made a real difference to people's lives.
