The 2-Semester Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Engineering and Physical Sciences is a one-year programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the university.

The International Foundation Programme is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom. The two semester programme lasts one academic year [nine months]. Each semester includes, on average, 13 teaching weeks, one reading week and one assessment week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week. This programme includes English and three academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if they need additional support to develop their English language. They will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure they are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final semester. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the University environment, and include project work, essays, and presentations.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) (Honours) - Civil Engineering course involves extensive design work linked to real-life engineering problems, allowing students to develop important professional skills such as teamwork, presenting, project management and report writing. These skills, combined with the specific technical expertise and critical thinking, will enable them to pursue a career as a professional civil engineer or choose from a wide range of other career options. When they graduate, they are likely to be part of a team working on the planning, design, building and maintenance of infrastructure systems such as bridges, roads, railways and a variety of buildings such as skyscrapers, airports, hospitals or sports stadia worldwide.
