The IS1 program is the equivalent of the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This pathway is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within business and economics. Participants will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Dundee. Studied across three terms, students will proceed directly to year two of their degree course at the University of Dundee upon completion of the pathway.

Business Economics with Marketing and Spanish

The world is increasingly characterized by global business operations, where national boundaries have little significance in decisions about where goods are produced and services are provided. In this course, students will learn what this means for today’s business landscape.

The course centers on economics, covering both micro and macroeconomics; however, it is broader than a standalone economics degree. It analyzes major external factors affecting global business, globalization, and applied policy.

There are two International Business courses available: a BSc and an MA. The main differences between these options are evident at Levels 1 and 2.

The MA option is suitable for those seeking greater flexibility and who have a strong interest in arts and social science subjects. In addition to compulsory modules, students can study a broad range of topics, including History, English, Geography, Politics, or Psychology.

Students will also study one Spanish module per semester in each year, either as beginners or at an intensive level if they have previously studied the language at Higher or A-Level.
