The Nursing (Child) and Leadership course at Derby offers a unique opportunity for students to gain expertise in both children's nursing and leadership, preparing them to become well-rounded, capable professionals. Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in line with their Future Nurse: Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses, this programme ensures that upon successful completion, students will be eligible to apply for NMC registration in children's nursing.

The course provides essential practical experience through a variety of placements in different healthcare and community settings, allowing students to apply their theoretical learning in real-world environments. Students will benefit from some of the best university facilities, including clinical skills suites and a state-of-the-art immersive suite, ensuring that they have access to the latest tools and technologies to enhance their learning.

This full-time, four-year programme is designed for those without a prior degree, enabling students to achieve a Master's level award alongside NMC registration in children's nursing. The course is structured to support personal growth and professional development, ensuring students not only gain the clinical skills necessary for effective nursing practice but also develop leadership abilities to drive positive change in healthcare settings.
