This accredited course provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary to become work-ready medical engineers. They will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of authentic engineering problems and industry-focused scenarios to work on individually or with fellow student engineers from different disciplines. Group work will simulate the dynamics of an engineering team and help students develop essential professional skills such as teamwork and communication. The open access makerspace serves as a collaborative environment for students to design, create, and collaborate.

Students will also have the chance to engage with professionals from healthcare providers such as the Cardiff and Vale Orthopedic Centre, and will benefit from partnerships with companies like Biomet, Simple ware, and Arthritis Research UK.

Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to complete a salaried placement in a location of their choice, even outside of the UK. This placement offers a valuable experience in a professional working environment and allows students to apply the skills they have acquired. Previous students have successfully completed placements in renowned organizations such as P&G, Johnson & Johnson, and the NHS.

The MEng degree program provides students with the platform to expand and enhance their knowledge in medical engineering. They will benefit from advanced learning in design and management, as well as engaging in multidisciplinary engineering design projects.
