12 Week Pre-Sessional English + International Incorporated Bachelors (IIB) - Stage One - Continue to Master of Arts (Honours) - Philosophy and Film

专业介绍

The International Stage One is equivalent to the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. The program is designed to assist students in developing their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Students will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen University of Dundee undergraduate degree. Studied across three terms, students will seamlessly transition to Year two of the degree course at the University upon successful completion of the International Stage One.

The Philosophy department delves into the exploration of existence using critical thinking and argumentation. Specializing in continental (European) philosophy, key texts from the European tradition are taught.

The department helps students analyze how philosophy is relevant to real-world concerns and contemporary issues by:

• Exploring films and artwork in lectures
• Discussing significant scientific and technological advancements
• Debating contentious ethical dilemmas
• Examining how texts written 300 years ago can be applicable to current political situations.
