International Incorporated Bachelors (IIB) - Stage One - Continue to Master of Arts (Honours) - History and International Relations

专业介绍

The International Stage One is considered equivalent to the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is specifically designed to assist students in enhancing their academic knowledge and skills within their chosen subject area. Additionally, students will focus on enhancing their English academic literacy in preparation for progressing to their selected University of Dundee undergraduate degree. Upon successful completion of the International Stage One, students will seamlessly transition to Year two of the University’s degree course.

The curriculum includes the study of social, cultural, and political history from the early modern period to the present day, with a particular focus on regions such as the British Isles, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and India.

The emphasis of the program is on actively engaging with history. Students will utilize primary sources from the outset of their studies and analyze various forms of historical evidence, including written and oral materials, maps, visual images, feature films, art, and music.

Students will also explore how the use of sources and media representations influence our interpretations of the past. They will critically examine key historical debates, tracing their evolution over time and their impact on our global understanding. Furthermore, students will learn about the process of historical interpretation and assess the roles of historians in contemporary public discourse, media, and the heritage sector.

International Relations involves the collaboration between two or more nations to establish trade connections and navigate political, cultural, and economic interactions. The complexities of conflict, cooperation, and the growing influence of non-state actors characterize the modern world. The program aims to equip students with the skills and analytical tools necessary to comprehend these intricate interconnections.
