The International Stage One is equivalent to the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Students will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen University of Dundee undergraduate degree. Studied across three terms, students will continue straight onto Year two of the degree course at the University once they have successfully completed the International Stage One.

The Financial Economics with French degree follows a similar path as the Economics degree. By pursuing this MA route, students will have a stronger interest in arts and social science subjects. This particular degree offers the opportunity to enhance Spanish language skills.

Economists analyze how societies strive to optimize their scarce resources, providing advice to governments, individuals, and companies on improving decisions and outcomes.

In addition to advising on investment, production, and prices, economists are increasingly called upon to provide guidance on policies related to climate change, inequality, and improvements in the National Health Service, among other issues such as marriage, religion, civil war, and football hooliganism.
