12 Week Pre-Sessional English + International Incorporated Bachelors (IIB) - Stage One - Continue to Master of Arts (Honours) - English with French

专业介绍

The International Stage One is the equivalent to the first year of a four year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Students will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen University of Dundee undergraduate degree. Studied across three terms, students will continue straight onto Year two of the degree course at the University once they have successfully completed the International Stage One.

English with French curriculum covers a variety of subjects, including French and the history of English literature. Students will start with a basic overview of the subject and then move towards choosing modules that align with their interests, ranging from the medieval period to the present day.

A wide range of modules are available, allowing students to study topics such as Shakespeare, science fiction, Romantic poetry, contemporary poetry, Victorian novels, and Hollywood films. The program also offers modules that explore the relationship between graphic novels and canonical literature, making it a world leader in comics studies.

Students will learn how to analyze poems, read novels as literary critics, and explore historical surveys of literature. They will delve into specific periods, movements, and topics in more detail as they progress through the program.

In addition to their specialist subjects, students will study one French module per semester at either a beginner or intensive level, depending on their previous experience with the language at Higher/A-Level.

At Levels 1 and 2, students will also complement their studies with additional Humanities or Social Sciences subjects such as History, Philosophy, or Geography.
