专业介绍

The International Stage One is equivalent to the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Students will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen University of Dundee undergraduate degree. Studied across three terms, students will continue straight onto Year two of the degree course at the University once they have successfully completed the International Stage One.

English and Politics studies offer a wide range of modules to choose from and can lead to a diverse range of careers.

Students can study the history of English literature from the medieval period to the present day. They can start with a basic overview of the subject and move towards choosing modules to suit their own interests.

A variety of modules provide the option to study anything from Shakespeare to science fiction, Romantic poetry to contemporary poetry, creative writing to visual culture, or Victorian novels to Hollywood films.

Politics addresses the major issues that impact societies globally. Students will gain an overview of the British political system and examine complex problems faced by humanity and the ideas that underpin them. The MA degree allows students to study Politics alongside other subjects such as History, Geography, languages, and Psychology. At Levels 3 and 4, students can specialize.

Optional modules in Russian, Irish, and Middle Eastern politics, nations and nationalism, political theories, and human rights and humanitarian intervention are included in the current teaching. Topics such as illegal drugs, gender and sexuality, environmental sustainability, and surveillance are also covered.
