The International Stage One is the equivalent to the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Students will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen University of Dundee undergraduate degree. Studied across three terms, students will continue straight onto Year two of the degree course at the University once they have successfully completed the International Stage One.

The MA Economics with French allows even greater flexibility if one has a strong interest in the arts and social science subjects. Along with the compulsory modules, students can study across a broad range including History, English, Geography, Politics, or Psychology.

Students will also study one or two French modules each year, either as a beginner or at an intensive level if they have previously studied the language at Higher/A-Level.

Economists examine how societies attempt to make the best use of their scarce resources so that they can advise governments, individuals, and companies on how to improve decisions and outcomes.

Traditionally economists advise on investment, inflation, interest rates, and production. Increasingly, however, economics takes a wider focus with many economists examining climate change, inequality, and improving healthcare.
