Integrated Masters - Master of Mathematics (G104)

专业介绍

The MMath degree expands on the BSc degree to prepare individuals for high-level entry into relevant professions. It serves as a solid foundation for those interested in pursuing a research career.

Students enrolled in this program will cover the same content as those pursuing the four-year BSc with a Year Abroad degree. In addition, they will undertake an extra year dedicated to completing a significant project. This project may involve conducting a survey on an area of mathematical theory not covered in taught modules, embarking on an introductory research project, or developing mathematical software.

By choosing this degree, students not only delve into a research topic of their choice but also acquire vital project and time management skills that are highly sought after by graduate employers. Furthermore, they demonstrate their expertise in the field through comprehensive coverage of subjects such as Mathematical Analysis, Mathematical Physics, and Fluid Dynamics.

During the third year of this course, students have the opportunity to study at a university abroad. The School has established agreements with institutions worldwide, providing support for students to apply for their overseas year.

Incorporating a study abroad experience into one's university journey offers numerous benefits. It broadens academic knowledge, immerses individuals in different cultures, and equips them with skills highly valued by employers. This experience enhances one's CV by showcasing essential abilities like communication, flexibility, and collaborative working. Additionally, it provides valuable networking opportunities. Above all, studying abroad is the beginning of an exciting adventure, allowing students to encounter new cultures, perspectives, establish new friendships, and create unforgettable memories.
