The International Stage One is the equivalent of the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Students will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen University of Dundee undergraduate degree. Studied across three terms, students will continue straight onto Year two of the degree course at the University once they have successfully completed the International Stage One.

Business Economics focuses on economic concepts, theories, and principles. Students will learn how these are applied to various business activities inside businesses or organizations and across the wider business world.

A strong understanding of the role of marketing in today’s multi-channel environment and how marketing fits into a wider organizational context will be developed.

In order to become an effective marketer and be able to allocate resources and tap into growth opportunities, students need to understand all economic factors relating to target markets, particularly around emerging markets.

Politics confronts the big issues that affect societies worldwide. Students will get an overview of the British political system as well as examine some of the most complex problems faced by humanity and the ideas that underpin them.

Current teaching includes optional modules on Russian, Irish, and Middle Eastern politics, nations and nationalism, political theories, and on human rights and humanitarian intervention. Topics such as illegal drugs, gender and sexuality, environmental sustainability, and surveillance are also covered.
