The International Foundation Year in Health and Life Sciences provides international students with preparation for progression to the BSc (Hons) Biology degree. Students develop foundational scientific knowledge while improving academic writing, research, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning skills. The programme also helps students understand UK higher education teaching and assessment methods. Successful completion enables students to continue to undergraduate Biology and explore topics including genetics, ecology, evolution, cells, organisms and biological systems. The pathway is suitable for students who have an interest in life sciences and want to develop a strong academic foundation for future opportunities in scientific research, laboratories, environmental sectors, healthcare and related industries.
