The International Foundation Year in Health and Life Sciences provides international students with a structured pathway towards the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree. The programme is designed to build foundational knowledge in health and life sciences while preparing students for undergraduate study in sports therapy. Students develop essential academic skills, including research, academic writing, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning. The programme also introduces students to the UK higher education environment, including university teaching, learning and assessment methods. Through structured academic support, students can build confidence and develop the skills needed for progression to undergraduate study. Upon successfully completing the foundation stage and meeting the required progression criteria, students can progress to the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree. The degree provides students with opportunities to explore human anatomy, physiology, sports injuries, rehabilitation and injury prevention. Students develop an understanding of the assessment and management of sports-related injuries and the role of therapeutic interventions in supporting recovery and physical performance. The programme supports the development of practical and professional skills relevant to sports therapy, rehabilitation and sports healthcare settings.
