The International Year Zero in Health and Life Sciences provides international students with a structured academic pathway towards the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree. The programme is designed to strengthen foundational knowledge in health and life sciences and prepare students for undergraduate study in sports therapy. Students develop essential academic skills, including research, academic writing, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning. The programme also introduces students to UK higher education teaching and assessment methods. Through structured academic support, students can build confidence and develop the skills needed for progression to undergraduate study. Upon successfully completing the programme and meeting the required progression criteria, students can progress to the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree. The undergraduate programme focuses on human anatomy, physiology, sports injuries, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Students develop knowledge of injury assessment and therapeutic approaches that support recovery, mobility and physical performance.
