The International Year Zero in Health and Life Sciences provides international students with a structured academic pathway towards the BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching degree. The programme is designed to strengthen foundational knowledge in health and life sciences while preparing students for undergraduate study in sport coaching. Students develop essential academic skills, including research, academic writing, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning. The programme also introduces students to UK higher education teaching, learning and assessment methods. Through structured academic support, students can build confidence and develop the skills needed for progression to undergraduate study. Upon successfully completing the programme and meeting the required progression criteria, students can progress to the BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching degree. The undergraduate programme focuses on coaching principles, athlete development, sports performance, training methods and practical coaching skills.
