The IS1 program is the equivalent of the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Participants will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Dundee.

Students will study the IS1 across two or three terms, depending on their entry qualifications. After successful completion, they will progress directly to Year 2 of their chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Dundee.

At Dundee, the Drug Discovery Unit bridges lab-focused academic research and industry-scale drug development to create new drugs designed to combat infections and other diseases. Expertise from this dynamic field has been utilized to shape the course. The curriculum is influenced by the work of world-leading researchers to ensure that students are learning the latest advances while also gaining a solid understanding of the fundamentals of the field.
