The BSc (Hons) Human Biology at the University of West London is designed to develop students’ knowledge and skills in testing, analysing and researching the fundamental aspects of what makes us human.

Covering diverse topics such as genetic makeup, disease immunity, nutrition, population trends, ageing and epidemiology, students will build an in-depth understanding of this wide-ranging field.

Throughout the human biology degree, students will benefit from:

• being part of a learning community that conducts cutting-edge research into areas such as cancer, genomics, microbiology, food safety, ageing and memory, and translational medicine
• access to brand-new facilities that include equipment used in modern pharmaceutical, nutritional and clinical laboratories
• the option of a placement year to develop their employability and career prospects
• a final year research project, allowing students to focus their studies on their specific interests and career goals

The BSc (Hons) Human Biology at the University of West London also offers a foundation year. The foundation year course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to continue on to their honours degree. Students will study a range of subjects that will underpin their future study and gain valuable experience of university life, with full access to campus facilities. Successful completion of the year allows students to progress straight on to Level 4 of the course.
