Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Psychology (with International Foundation programme)

专业介绍

The BSc Psychology programme enables students to explore how the human mind can be understood and applied to solving real-world problems, while developing the professional skills and experience needed to stand out in a competitive employment market.

In a rapidly changing world, the programme equips students with professional skills while exploring the practical applications of psychology and preparing them for a diverse range of careers.

Students develop a strong foundation in applying psychological knowledge to contemporary issues and social challenges, including mental health conditions, health inequalities, environmental concerns, and social justice.

The programme also provides opportunities to apply AI tools in psychological research and assessment. This enables students to develop digital skills and expertise valued by employers in psychology and related fields.

Alongside their degree, students can gain industry-recognised qualifications to enhance their employability, including Mental Health First Aid, neurodiversity awareness, and coaching. They also develop the confidence to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.

As their skills progress, students gain insight into data analysis, research methods, and critical evaluation, providing the knowledge and capabilities needed to pursue their professional goals.

Through practical activities designed to replicate real-world workplace scenarios, students develop a broad range of skills to support their chosen career path. The programme is proudly accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), ensuring that it meets the highest standards of psychological education.

BPS accreditation is essential for those aspiring to become Chartered Psychologists. Graduates who achieve at least a 2:2 classification are eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), the first step towards Chartered Psychologist status. Further training in a specialist area, such as clinical, forensic, educational, or counselling psychology, can then lead to a rewarding professional career.

Recognised and valued by students and employers, BPS accreditation represents a mark of excellence. It provides access to a broad range of professional opportunities and supports the development of psychological science and practice.

All students also have the option of completing a one-year paid work placement to further enhance their employability. Those who choose this route undertake the placement after the second year of the programme before returning to complete their degree.
