The LLB Law at the University of West London provides the first step towards gaining the knowledge required to pursue professional qualifications to become a solicitor or a barrister.

The course aims to give students a comprehensive education in all aspects of the law. Students will benefit from pre-course support to help prepare for their studies, field trips to locations such as the European Court of Human Rights, the Supreme Court, the Old Bailey and the Inns of Court, as well as overseas study trips, regular mooting competitions and opportunities to compete for student prizes.

The course focuses on applying knowledge in practice through real-world legal scenarios. All modules are taught with reference to current legal practice, ensuring students remain up to date with developments in the profession.

As students progress through the degree, they will develop a thorough understanding of the complexities of the legal system and enhance key skills to support their future careers.

Students will also have opportunities to learn from guest speakers including academics, barristers, judges and solicitors, gaining valuable insight into how the law operates in practice.

Throughout the degree, students will be encouraged to gain work experience to apply their learning in professional settings, with opportunities to work with organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, the Free Representation Network, Ealing Advice Service, West London Equality Centre and other local and national services.
