The LLB (Hons) Law at Regent’s University London is a three-year full-time undergraduate degree designed to provide students with a broad foundation in English law alongside practical legal skills and multidisciplinary perspectives. The programme covers the seven foundations of legal knowledge, including contract law, criminal law, equity and trusts, EU law, tort law, property law and public law. Students can also explore areas such as family law, intellectual property, environmental law, employment law, commercial law and international human rights, while developing skills in legal research, analysis, negotiation, client interviewing and courtroom advocacy.

The programme takes a practical and contemporary approach to legal education, combining academic study with case studies, simulations, workshops, collaborative projects, live client briefs and industry placements. Students are introduced to the use of artificial intelligence in legal work and can choose multidisciplinary electives in areas such as business, psychology, technology and design. The programme also provides opportunities to engage with legal practitioners and businesses in London, participate in guest lectures and field trips, and undertake a work placement in the second year. A term of study abroad is also available, giving students opportunities to gain international experience.

The degree has been designed with reference to the Bar Standards Board’s requirements for the academic stage of legal training and provides foundational knowledge relevant to the first stage of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). However, it is an undergraduate law degree rather than an SQE preparation course, and additional training or qualifications may be required for professional qualification depending on the intended jurisdiction. Graduates may pursue careers in private practice, in-house legal services, compliance, legal analysis, contract management, policy, legal technology, business, government and other sectors where legal knowledge is valuable.
