The International Foundation Year in Health and Life Sciences provides international students with a structured pathway towards the BSc (Hons) Midwifery degree. The programme is designed to build foundational knowledge in health and life sciences while preparing students for undergraduate study in a professional healthcare discipline. Students develop essential academic skills, including research, academic writing, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning. The programme also introduces students to the UK higher education environment, including university teaching, learning and assessment methods. Upon successfully completing the foundation stage and meeting the required progression criteria, students can progress to the BSc (Hons) Midwifery degree.
