Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Strathclyde followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Strathclyde. In the international foundation year, students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into students' intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Business & Social Sciences will familiarize students with a wide area of study. They will develop their critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing them with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.

Mathematics is everywhere: weather forecasting, cash machines, secure websites, electronic games, liquid crystal displays and statistical data analysis.

Statistics is the area of mathematics we use to explore and try to explain the uncertain world in which we live. Students will be familiar with the use of statistics in opinion polls and market research. It is also central to the manufacture and testing of many products, and, in particular, showing that modern drugs are effective and safe.

This flexible degree structure enables transfer between courses with the opportunity to study abroad.
