The 2-Semester Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Engineering and Physical Sciences is a one-year programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the university.

The International Foundation Programme is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom. The two semester programme lasts one academic year [nine months]. Each semester includes, on average, 13 teaching weeks, one reading week and one assessment week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week. This programme includes English and three academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if they need additional support to develop their English language. They will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure they are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final semester. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the University environment, and include project work, essays, and presentations.

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Automotive Engineering:

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Automotive Engineering programme at Loughborough University will enable students to specialise in subjects that are directly relevant to a rapidly changing industry and the future of ground transportation. This course is based on the heritage of working alongside industry, and from the outset make use of automotive specific examples in teaching the engineering fundamentals, an approach that differs from many other automotive engineering courses in the United Kingdom.

From topics related to new powertrain architectures, to specialist modules including Battery Technology and Machine Intelligence, the Automotive Engineering course also includes more foundational topics such as Aerodynamics, Materials, Structures and Experimental and Computational Fluid Dynamics. These provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of the underlying and unchanging physics of automotive systems essential to modern automotive engineering.
