In today’s globalised economy, businesses operate across borders, and national boundaries play a much smaller role in determining where goods are produced and services are delivered. This course explores what these changes mean for the modern business environment. Economics lies at the core of the programme, with coverage of both microeconomics and macroeconomics. Broader than a standalone economics degree, the course examines globalisation, applied policy, and the key external factors shaping international business.

Students also study one Spanish language module per semester. They may continue Spanish from Higher or A-level, or join an intensive programme designed for beginners.

International Business is offered as either a BSc or an MA, with the main differences occurring in Levels 1 and 2. The MA option is particularly suited to students seeking greater flexibility and those with a strong interest in arts and social science subjects. This pathway allows students to study disciplines such as History, English, Geography, Politics, or Psychology alongside their compulsory modules. Students on both degree routes study one Spanish language module per semester each year, at either beginner or intensive level depending on prior experience.
