Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Leeds Beckett University International Study Centre. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Leeds Beckett University. In an international foundation year students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge in sciences and mathematics, as well as the English language skills necessary for success in an undergraduate program at Leeds Beckett University. Once a student completes this course they will be suitable for progression options in areas such as computing, biomedical sciences and civil engineering.

After completing this pathway, students will transition to the BA Fine Art program. This course will push the limits of students creativity and encourage them to experiment with painting, performance, installation, photography, drawing, printmaking, animation, digital processes and other media. Students will be taught by nationally and internationally recognized artists and practitioners, who will help students to develop their artistic identity. Students will also participate in seminars, collaborative on and off-site activities and live curatorial projects. LBU will nurture students critical and thinking skills so that they will be able to understand your own work and that of others within a range of social, cultural and philosophical contexts.
