Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Leeds Beckett University International Study Centre. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Leeds Beckett University. In an international foundation year students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge in sciences and mathematics, as well as the English language skills necessary for success in an undergraduate program at Leeds Beckett University. Once a student completes this course they will be suitable for progression options in areas such as computing, biomedical sciences and civil engineering.

After completing this pathway, students will transition to the BA Human Geography program. Students will explore the rapidly changing world around you on this contemporary and dynamic course. They will study important topics such as migration, identity, sustainability, social injustice, cities and globalization. Alongside lectures, seminars and group work, you will undertake local and international fieldwork, go on a human geography-related work placement and conduct a major piece of research for your final-year dissertation. This course will challenge your existing views and will provide you with sought-after skills and new ways of thinking.
