Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Leeds Beckett University International Study Centre. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Leeds Beckett University. In an international foundation year students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge in sciences and mathematics, as well as the English language skills necessary for success in an undergraduate program at Leeds Beckett University. Once a student completes this course they will be suitable for progression options in areas such as computing, biomedical sciences and civil engineering.

After completing this pathway, students will transition to the BA Sociology & Psychological Studies program. You will discover how we develop as individuals and learn how institutions and social structures influence how we act. Touching upon the theories of classical and contemporary sociologists, you will explore a wide range of sociological themes, and study psychological topics, including how different environments shape human behaviour, the inter-relationship between the individual and broader social and cultural phenomena, and how psychology can be used for the benefit of society. You will be able to shape your course to the career you want by selecting from a range of option modules in the final year.
