专业介绍

The 2-Semester Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Engineering and Physical Sciences is a one-year programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the university.

The International Foundation Programme is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom. The two semester programme lasts one academic year [nine months]. Each semester includes, on average, 13 teaching weeks, one reading week and one assessment week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week. This programme includes English and three academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if they need additional support to develop their English language. They will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure they are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final semester. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the University environment, and include project work, essays, and presentations.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Geography:

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Geography provides a broad foundation of physical and human geography in Year 1 and then allows students to increasingly specialise in physical geography, or maintain a balance of physical and human geography, in subsequent years. When it comes to designing their degree, undergraduates benefit directly from staff research expertise through the modular choices available. The academic staff are driving forward intellectual agendas in physical and human geography, as well as helping to shape national and international policy. This expertise ensures that the knowledge students are getting throughout their programme is at the cutting-edge of scientific research and focused on some of the most important issues in society today.
