The 2-Semester Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Humanities and Social Sciences is a one-year programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the university.

The International Foundation Programme is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom. The two semester programme lasts one academic year [nine months]. Each semester includes, on average, 13 teaching weeks, one reading week and one assessment week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week. This programme includes English and three academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if they need additional support to develop their English language. They will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure they are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final semester. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the University environment, and include project work, essays, and presentations.

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Media and Communication takes a multidisciplinary approach to the study of media and communication, and is essential for making sense of how power and influence work in today’s complex, turbulent world. Students will acquire a thorough understanding of both historical and contemporary developments across a number of key media sectors including the press, broadcasting, film, advertising and digital media. Key themes covered include political communication, misinformation, persuasion, social inequality, gender, race, and sexuality, to name but a few. On this Media and Communication degree they will gain a wide range of specialist analytical and practical skills relevant to many jobs that involve working with the media and communication industries and beyond, where the knowledge and deep insight this degree provides makes a real difference.
