Program Description

This 3.5-term programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to London South Bank University. You will study your Foundation programme at the ONCampus LSBU Centre located at the heart of the London South Bank University campus. 3.5 term programmes consist of English language during the first 0.5 term although some academic content may be included.

This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at London South Bank University. All students who successfully complete the Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP) are guaranteed placement on a suitable programme of undergraduate study at London South Bank University. The UFP is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the UK.

The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week, and half a term of English language. On average, you will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

English Language forms up to six hours of your timetable, is compulsory for students who are below the required level for progression, and will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects as well as being taught separately if you need additional support. Students who are at or above the required English level for progression are likely to follow a reduced timetable.

Progress to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Human Geography

Are you curious about how economic, political and social processes are reflected in geographies? Human Geography is all about understanding the evolution of places, landscapes and environments. You'll apply human geography concepts and techniques to re-imagine more socially just and sustainable futures.

This course covers making sustainable places; human geography theory and its application to 21st century cities - like London; social and cultural geographies; regeneration; GIS technologies and geopolitics. You'll learn to appreciate that the key dimensions of inequality are socially constructed, and that geography plays a crucial role in those constructions.

LSBU's optional modules mean you can tailor your degree to your interests and future career ambitions. Be inspired by guest speakers from public, private sector and third sector organisations, as well as academia, will bring specialisms and real world contextualisation.
