专业介绍

The BMus (Hons) Performance and Music Management at the University of West London provides future popular music professionals with a thorough, industry-facing educational experience.

This degree offers students opportunities to cultivate essential performance-focused skills that are vital for the contemporary musician.

Central to the course’s philosophy is an emphasis on performing artistic identities, rather than simply the presentation of musical works, which can be empowered and embodied through the performance and curation of original material.

This approach is supported from the outset and embedded through tailored music creation and interpretation workshops in performance-focused modules, as well as contextual study in modules with research and career orientations.

Within the course, students will harness established technologies, including performance tools such as in-ear monitoring, sample pads and backing tracks, that are central to contemporary popular music performance practice.

Students will also engage with and utilise rapidly evolving technologies that enhance creative expression and support academic enquiry, alongside studying practices within the wider music industry in the representation of music and musicians to achieve strong outcomes for musical projects in a variety of professional contexts.

This combination ensures that graduates are equipped with a strong creative and entrepreneurial drive, along with a wide range of employable skills.
