Bachelor of Science - Criminology with Year Abroad (M903)

专业介绍

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Criminology with Year Abroad (M903) is an undergraduate program that explores the causes, consequences, and prevention of crime within a global context. The program combines theoretical and applied approaches to criminology with an international study experience, allowing students to gain cross‑cultural perspectives on crime and justice systems.

Students study core areas such as criminological theory, criminal justice systems, policing, punishment, social inequality, and victimology, alongside training in research methods and data analysis. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and evidence‑based approaches to understanding crime and developing effective responses.

The year abroad, typically undertaken between the second and final year, provides students with the opportunity to study at a partner university overseas. This experience enhances cultural awareness, global understanding, and adaptability while exploring international perspectives on criminology and social policy.

Through lectures, case studies, and independent research, students develop strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills relevant to careers in criminology and related fields.

Graduates are prepared for careers in criminal justice, policing, probation services, social and community work, research, and policy development, or for further postgraduate study in criminology, law, or related disciplines.
