The degree develops students’ critical thinking, communication, and advocacy skills to support successful legal careers. It provides a comprehensive study of the English legal system, including Public Law, Contract Law, and Criminal Law, while offering optional modules such as Environmental Law, Computer Law, and Artificial Intelligence.

Supported by award-winning and research-active staff, the program offers a range of activities and events designed to strengthen students’ legal knowledge and practical abilities. Students can develop advocacy skills through mooting and client interviewing, access mentoring and employability opportunities through the LawID scheme, and engage with practicing lawyers through the program’s strong connections with the legal profession.

In Year 1, students study the fundamental principles of law while developing their critical thinking and advocacy skills through modules such as Communication Skills for Lawyers. They gain confidence in expressing informed opinions on legal issues and learn how to use evidence effectively to support their arguments.

In Year 2, students progress to more advanced areas of legal study and may have the opportunity to specialize in commercial law or criminal justice. The LLB program is designed to prepare graduates for careers as skilled and sought-after legal professionals, while also allowing them to choose from a range of optional modules.

In Year 3, students have the opportunity to complete a dissertation, enabling them to conduct in-depth research into a legal topic of interest. Academic staff provide guidance and support throughout the research and writing process.
