Master of Research - Psychology

专业介绍

The Master of Research (MRes) in Psychology at the University of Derby offers a comprehensive and specialized preparation for students aiming to pursue original research in psychology. This program is designed to equip students with the high-level skills necessary for professional research, blending both quantitative and qualitative methods. Students will have the opportunity to design and conduct a substantial independent research project on a theme of their choice, aligning with personal or professional interests.

The MRes is distinct from traditional taught master's degrees, such as an MSc, in that it focuses heavily on developing advanced research methods and skills. With expert supervision and access to sophisticated research facilities, including a video observation suite and eye-tracking equipment, students will develop a confident command of research techniques that prepare them for careers in academia, commercial sectors, or public research.

The program is flexible, allowing students to balance their studies with existing commitments through a mix of online learning and short on-campus study blocks. It also provides a solid foundation for those looking to progress to a PhD, culminating in a major independent research project assessed by a viva voce examination. This challenging master's degree is ideal for graduates and professionals looking to elevate their research skills and career prospects in psychology.
