Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Durham University International Study Centre located at Queen's Campus, in Stockton on Tees. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Durham University. In a Pre-Masters program students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This Pre-Masters provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency and study skills students need to progress to degree study at the University of Durham, Durham City campus in a range of subjects related to science and engineering.

After completing this pathway, students will transfer to the MSc - Mathematical Sciences. This course aims to bring the student, in 12 months, to a position where you can embark with confidence on a wide range of careers, including taking a PhD in Mathematics or related disciplines. There is a wide range of taught modules on offer, and students will also produce a dissertation on a topic of current research interest taken from your choice of a wide range of subjects offered.

If you do not meet the English language entry requirements for the Pre-Masters, you can study the English for Pre-Masters course first. At the end of the English for Pre-Masters course, you will take an IELTS test to assess your level of English. You will progress to your chosen program when you complete the course and achieve the required IELTS score.
