Master of Science - Computing & Information Technology with Industrial Placement

专业介绍

The MSc Computing and Information Technology program at Cardiff Metropolitan University is designed for both computing graduates looking to specialize and individuals from other disciplines seeking a transition into the tech field. The curriculum bridges the gap between technical expertise and strategic business execution by blending practical IT skills with strategic planning, leadership, and project management.

Curriculum and Learning Approach

Shaped directly in collaboration with employers, the curriculum focuses on high-demand areas of the contemporary digital economy, including information security, data analytics, and business process analysis.

• Hands-on Experience: Students apply theoretical concepts through real-world case studies, practical projects, and research guided by academics active in consultancy.

• Industry Engagement: The program incorporates guest lectures, field trips, and networking opportunities to help students build professional connections before graduation.

Industrial Placement

For students entering through the September intake, the university offers the Sandwich Programme (2 Years): Students can opt for a year-long Industrial Placement, replacing the traditional dissertation with an Industrial Placement Project (40 credits). This pathway requires students to embed themselves within an organization to tackle a substantial, applied industry project and deliver practical, research-driven recommendations to their host.
