The MSc in Sports Engineering is designed with direct input from industry to address the evolving demands of the global sports equipment market. The programme equips students with both technical and transferable skills that are highly valued in the sports equipment sector and academic research environments.

Students are taught by a combination of academic experts and industry professionals with extensive experience in the sports engineering field. Their insights ensure the curriculum remains aligned with the latest industry trends, innovations, and challenges.

Core areas of study include product design engineering for sport, measurement and data analytics, research methods, the sports industry landscape, innovation processes, sustainability in product design, human factors, robotics in sport, and a major individual project.

In the summer term, students may have the opportunity to undertake a micro-placement project. Organised through established partnerships with industry and alumni networks, these placements offer valuable, hands-on experience working on real-world projects that directly complement their MSc studies.
