The ongoing evolution of autonomous vehicles (AVs) relies heavily on the expertise and vision of the next generation of engineers. This course is designed for individuals with a background in software engineering, computer science, or related fields, and aims to support their career development in this rapidly advancing sector. Participants will apply their developing engineering knowledge to address key challenges in AV technology, with a strong focus on safety, cybersecurity, and the testing and validation of autonomous systems. These subjects are typically delivered in collaboration with industry partner HORIBA MIRA, ensuring the content remains grounded in real-world applications and aligned with workforce needs.

Coventry University provides all necessary equipment for practical exercises in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication and navigation, utilising Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou. The university also supplies the required equipment—including accelerometers and data acquisition devices—and software, such as LabVIEW, for hands-on activities in vehicle dynamics.
