The MSc Data Science for Business and Innovation at Regent’s University London is a postgraduate degree that combines data science, analytics, artificial intelligence and business management. The programme is designed to help students use data as a strategic asset to support evidence-based decision-making, innovation and digital transformation. Students develop knowledge of data governance, privacy and ethics, statistical modelling, machine learning and emerging technologies, while learning to apply data science to practical business challenges such as declining sales, customer churn, demand forecasting and fraud detection.

The programme has a strong practical and industry-focused approach. Students develop technical skills using industry tools including Python, SQL, Power BI and Tableau, while also learning data visualisation, storytelling and how to communicate insights to business decision-makers. Teaching includes seminars, practical workshops and technology labs, live business briefs, consultancy work, simulations, guest talks and industry-related activities. Core study includes Data Visualisation and Value Creation, Emerging Technology Frontiers, Data Lifecycle Management, Ethics and Governance, Data Modelling and Machine Learning, Professional Perspectives and a Final Major Project, with opportunities to choose elective modules.

Graduates can pursue careers that combine data science, analytics and business strategy, including roles such as Data Strategy Consultant, Business Intelligence Manager, Data Business Manager, Applied Data Science Specialist, Analytics Consultant, Digital Transformation Analyst, Customer Analytics Manager and Data Operations Manager. The programme is available in full-time format with September and January intakes. September starters complete three terms over 12 months, while January starters take a summer break and complete an additional autumn term, resulting in a 16-month duration. Entry normally requires a minimum second-class UK undergraduate degree or an equivalent international qualification; exceptional entry may also be considered for applicants without a degree who have at least three years of relevant work experience.
