This London-based Master’s degree allows students to pursue a historical subject of their own choosing, under academic supervision, culminating in a substantial dissertation based on original research.
The program offers a wide scope for study, with supervision available in topics ranging from antiquity to the early twenty-first century. Provided there is sufficient evidence to support the research, almost any aspect of history can serve as a suitable focus.
The MA in History by Research is designed to enable students to explore their historical interests in depth, including in areas not covered by the University’s other taught MA programmes.
